Bomberman

Image
Here are two versions of my own take on Bomberman! I had a lot of fun creating this one for this past weeks' 3D Animation assignment! The one that is more square shaped is the one without a subdivision surface on it, so it is not as smooth. I decided with this post and from here on to post some quick facts/quirky things about my process while I do these projects! So... Fantastical Facts: Bomberman Edition: The eyes on the subdivision surface model (the rounder one) was actually a mistake! It was intended to be all black, but my friends and I found it too funny for it to not be kept in the final version!  Realized after the project, I forgot to add reflections, but the ice surface remembered 😅 As always, thank you for supporting this small artist and blog! I hope you enjoy the work as much as I do when I create it! Have a magical day! -Maddy Wessling

Care Bears Countdown

Image
Here is my finished version of Love a Lot Bear! It is not perfect, and I really need to work on perfecting the lines, but I am proud of my progress and how far I have come within a short time. The background and the part of the clouds does move, but I chose this still image to post here. This project took 20+ hours and a whopping 1,441 lines of code!

Gumball

Image
Here is a lovely finished work of Gumball from The Amazing World of Gumball in HTML5! With the help from my Digital Media teacher, I was able to successfully code Gumball. I am really impressed that I was able to code the lines around the face so cleanly. I really love how this piece turned out!

Sword and Shield

Image
Here is my very first sword and shield model in Cinema 4D! This was my assignment for my 3D Animation class. I'm going to be honest and that this took wayyyy  longer to complete than I wanted. I had a few troubleshooting issues with the materials, but I eventually got it figured out with some help from my friends. Shout out to them for all of their help! I am really proud of the progress I have made this far in such a short amount of time. Hopefully I can continue to grow and create! Until next time!

Seascape

Here is another project I completed in HTML5! I really enjoyed creating this! It took quite a while, but I am really proud that I was able to add some animated elements to this. I hope you all enjoy!

Say Cheese!

Image
Here is a finished HTML 5 canvas piece! My teacher taught us how to create this using only code! I LOVE how this piece turned out! I really like the rainbow effect in the back and how the colors pop!

Radial and Linear Gradients

Image
Here is a finished practice piece using both radial and linear gradients! I really like the way that this turned out! I actually made an error in the code originally, which created the pointy cone-like shapes. I decided that I liked it better than what I was going for before, so I kept it. I am really proud of my learning progress so far! In a short few weeks, I've went from not knowing anything about coding at all, to making this! I'm going to keep working hard, so please stay tuned and thanks for visiting!

First Try at Dreamweaver

Image
This may look a little chaotic but here is my first ever try at coding in Dreamweaver! I did this all using code to place where the squares and lines are on the canvas. It may not look like much, but I feel proud that I was actually able to code objects and lines! Hopefully I can continue to grow and create more pictures within Dreamweaver.

First Ever Try at 3D Animation

Image
This past week in my 3D Animation class, I worked on my first ever mini project! For homework, we were assigned to create a train from scratch using Cinema 4D and a Wacom Tablet. I successfully completed this and was very happy with the results! I had to use my Surface Pro, which unfortunately couldn't run the software properly, so I am very pleased that I was able to get anything modeled at all. It is most certainly not  perfect, but for my first try, I think that this piece exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to see what we are going to try next!

ASCII Portrait

Image
This is a ASCII coded picture of me! I used the website: http://glassgiant.com/ascii/  . Today in Digital Media, we learned about ASCII and how this form of art can really transform any pictures or other works of art. Looking into the art form, I love the early pieces of animals, especially the bears (they are too cute).

Hello! Welcome to my blog! My name is Maddy Wessling and I am a Junior at the University of Tampa. My major is New Media and my minor is Dance Theater. I will also be posting about my journey in my classes, which I am very excited to share with you all, so stay tuned! I really hope to learn all about digital art and how to become the best designer I can possibly be! I look forward to having a space to showcase my progress!
