BW to Color

Here is my completed Black and White to Color project! The original image used was taken by me simply in a room with a plain wall. This made the process easier to distinguish where I was compared to the wall in the production process. Before I added the color to the image, I changed the photo to black and white. I also made masks, which aren't perfect. I tried to fix the small errors with the eyes and the hair later, however, it only made matters worse. This final version is the original version that was turned in.

Fantastical Facts: BW to Color Edition:
  • The first palette is a square palette. The second palette is an an analogous, and the third is a complementary palette. These color combinations were made using Adobe Color! It is a great resource for making palettes that you can reuse for digital art. 
  • The eyes and the hair have some small mistakes in the lines. They look a little funky, but overall I liked how the piece works conceptually and I decided to keep it. 
  • Hair is one of the worst things to perfect! I now understand what my teacher meant when he told us that hair was really hard to edit in photoshop... With my hair, I now realize that I probably could have controlled my hair a lot more before taking the picture. Tiny strands can really mess with you!

For this project we needed to take more complicated images than the Image Mandala and take them into Adobe Illustrator, simplify them, and make a mandala out of the images in Adobe Dreamweaver. These images were imported using Javascript files, so that way we were able to make cool changes to the images without having a disorganized code. Fantastical Facts: Illustrator Mandala Edition: This project is 6,261 lines total! This is by far the biggest project so far! A good amount of the lines were generated from Illustrator and then made into Javascript files, however, they are still counted in the total as they are referenced in the main source code.  It was a challenge in this project to find images that weren't too complicated so that way the code could run without crashing the computer. Animation for Interactivity and Games Week 10

  This week in class, I worked on creating the maps for the final project. I created parts of the world that I would like the Critter Cubes to live in. I started with the village house above and I would like to create that into a party scene with more food on the table and decorations in the background. I would also like the Critter Cubes to jump around the table. I also worked on planning the other scenes and what shots I would like to take with them.

Fragmented Video- Doxies In Space

Here is my second project for my Multimedia Installation class! For this project, we needed to create a fragmented video with 6 to 9 squares all with footage that went together. I decided to step out of the box a bit and create a 6 canvas wide painting that when put together, makes one giant painting called, Doxies In Space ! I filmed the footage of myself painting it and made the clips into 6 sections to achieve the product. Fantastical Facts: Doxies In Space Edition: All together, the footage took a little over 2 hours to film and paint! Each clip had to be filmed one at a time, panel by panel. It took about a week of prep work as well, drawing on the canvases and getting all of the supplies set.  After each panel was filmed, I then converted all of the files over to my computer to save space.
